For me, bulgur has been something completely unknown for a long time. I had heard that name before, but it sounded very exotic and oriental to me. I had no idea it was actually a favorite mixture of wheat grains, full of vitamins and nutrients.

Now, after I started using it quite often, I would say that it looks more like rice, because in fact in many recipes I now put bulgur instead of rice. I find it much tastier and in addition, it boils faster. I put it in stuffed peppers, in sarmale, in salads like tabouleh and pilaf, as in today's recipe. I even made bulgur with milk (just like rice pudding) and I really liked it.
